It appears there’s no stopping this eight-year-old New Zealander when it comes to cancer and skiing. In fact, Lochie Win is about to launch his next quest to raise funds and increase cancer awareness. This time he’s planned a 12-hour endurance race at Coronet Peak Ski Resort, home to New Zealand’s premier night skiing.

The Wasatch County Council heard an update at their meeting last week on the proposed work for the new Mayflower Mountain Resort (MMR).

What’s a Ski Detective?

I don’t know exactly, and without an official designation (as of yet) it might be difficult to determine. However, it does appear that 16-year-old Colorado resident Miles Vaille just might have an answer. During an interview with his local news station in Colorado Vaille describes his role by saying,

“During the summer (at Keystone Resort), I go underneath the chair lifts, and I go looking for lost items like cell phones, headphones, ski passes, all sorts of random things. So far I’ve found 11 phones and I’ve been able to return nine of them.”

Last year, the U. S. saw just over 58,000 wildfires burning and a total of more than 7.1 million acres set on fire. This fire season has also started in much the same way.
